Docent, Fenwick Island Lighthouse
Volunteers are needed to keep the historic Fenwick Island Lighthouse maintained and open to the public. Volunteers will conduct tours, answer questions and give historical information about the Lighthouse to school groups and the general public. Volunteers can take charge of the small museum and gift shop on the premises. Landscaping and grass cutting are also needs. Worker's Hill Interpreter
Delve into the history of home life in the 1800's along the Brandywine River. Share stories with our visitors about household chores, living conditions, and community life at Hagley. You may use the wood-burning stove or "teach" school using slate boards and quill pens. No prior experience is necessary. Training is provided. Applications accepted all year. Training: May 30, June 3, Sept. 16, 26 (only attend one day). Requested time commitment is four to five and a half hours, three times per month, weekdays and weekends. Personal Ponies Volunteer
At Personal Ponies, we believe that the lives of children with disabilities are immeasurably enriched by having a small pony to care for and enjoy.
Typical volunteer activities include, but are no where limited to the following activities:
• Grooming and exercising the ponies
• Assisting with family visits
• Pasture and stall mucking/clean up
• Schools and healthcare visits
• Attending special events & parades
• Being a mentor in our 4-H program
• Historians and photographers
• Event planners & fundraising
• Financial supporters & mentors

Got Computer Skills?
The rising unemployment rate has many people without computer skills needing to learn how to use email, search for jobs online, prepare resumes and cover letters. RSVP is looking for volunteers to teach computer classes at libraries and community centers focusing on how to use the computer to compete effectively for employment.

Share Your Love of Nature
Enjoy working with People? Like the Outdoors? Want to share your knowledge of nature? That's what this position is all about. As a Nature Center Docent, you will provide visitor service at the brand new, state of the art Nature Center at Killens Pond State Park. This is an up-front position: greeting guests who come to the nature center, answering questions, providing casual tours and assisting with school and other groups. You may also help develop nature center programming. Scheduling is flexible and benefits include great training, volunteer uniform, free admission to the park and park events along with on-going volunteer recognition.
